We are delighted to have been appointed by Monaghan County Council, in collaboration with Gaffney and Cullivan, as conservation architects for the restoration of Hope Castle gate lodge, Castleblayney and it’s re-purposing as a new library for the town.
The Gate Lodge, a mid nineteenth century protected structure, together with its sister building, forms an integral part of the entrance to Lough Muckno Estate. Unfortunately it has fallen into significant disrepair and suffered from considerable arson damage since last being used as a theatre.
This is particularly exciting project for us, having previously completed the restoration of its sister building in 2016, pictures of which can be found here……..
