CO:WORX Edgeworthstown

The former Ulster Bank is a landmark building in Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford, located the North of Main Street, it is a protected structure built in the Queen Anne Revival style. It ceased operating as a bank in 2017, and was acquired by a local community group; CO:WORX, with a view to creating a Digital Hub in Edgeworthstown. The new facility, which opened in March 2022, provides vibrant collaborative and co-working spaces, acting as a launch pad for innovative start-up businesses and new entrepreneurs in the local community.

Craftstudio Architecture were the lead consultants on this innovative project. Works included the extensive renovation and upgrade of the existing building, and an extension incorporating a training centre and remote learning facilities.

The aim of CO:WORX is to stimulate economic growth in the locality, providing the latest technological advances allowing people to return to work in their community, increase spending in the local economy and strike a better work/life balance. The facility provides multi-functional space providing High-Speed Broadband, hot-desk facilities, dedicated desks, office suites, business training, mentoring and facilities for people to develop ideas and businesses.

Refurbishment works to the existing building include the upgrade of the thermal fabric of the building and the incorporation of renewable energy technologies creating visually impressive, bright and spacious contemporary workspaces.
