Masion Saint-Robert
Located in on the edge the beautiful village of Saint-Robert in the Corez region of France, the site enjoys stunning panoramic views. The brief was to provide a permanent retirement home, fully wheelchair accessible, a difficult challenge on such a sloping site.
The open plan kitchen, living and dining room is located on the upper ground floor and are serviced by a passenger lift from entrance level to ensure adaptability in the future. The form cranks to provide differing views as one moves through the space. The crank in plan also helps provide much needed solar shading. The upper floor sits on a stone plinth which accommodates the bedrooms and entrance space. The stone form feathers into the hill to help ground the building to its setting.
