The Wood
This replacement house sits within the mature gardens of a previous dwelling called The Wood. The dynamic form of the dwelling derives from the desire to over-sail the sloping garden and extend towards the views. Imagined as a series of living spaces amongst the trees, the dwelling carefully cantilevers into the surrounding canopy. When approached up the hill from below, it resembles a series of floating pavilions providing a high degree of lightness to an otherwise large building built into the hillside.
